In honor of Thanksgiving, I am counting my blessings as a writer, reader and overall voracious lover of books. These are the people I want to thank most:
1. My loving, colorful, and truly unique family, who has given me full support in sharing my life story.
2. Writer’s like J.R. Moehringer author of THE TENDER BAR, who writes with depth and sincerity. He has shown me it’s possible to write a memoir about my crazy life with love and affection for those who shaped me.
3. The irreplaceable circle of friends who have read my work numerous times and provided honest feedback when I’m rambling or not digging deep enough, or simply given me a pep-talk when I needed encouragement to keep going. Thank you Shelly Tegen, Jessica Therrien, Chris La Monte, and Best Friend Dani.
4. Librarians like Stacey von Winckelmann who ensure we all can read as many books, listen to as many CD’s, and watch as many DVD’s as our hearts’ desire.
5. My delicious husband who inspires me to write, who makes me happy, who makes me a better person just by his very presence.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Aloha Holly,
Now that I’ve gone to your Website, I remember sitting in with you at one of the SCWC sessions this past fall… Congrats again on the book, thanks for the Twitter follow and all the best with your writing… I’ve signed up to follow your blog, so bring it on!
Thanks Mark! How is your ghost writing going?
Hope your Thanksgiving was terrific. Those are good things to be thankful for. It’s always good to slow down and think about what makes us better 🙂
Thanks Jemi. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too! Happy Holidays.
Our Thanksgiving was interesting. My oldest son got sick and I stayed home with him while my husband and son joined the rest of my family for a feast. My oldest boy and I had fun watching TV and hanging out together. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!!
It makes us smile too, just to remember all the good stuff in our lives.
It’s always good to stop and count them, especially when we start to doubt that there are any there at all, and then it’s great to realise that we do indeed have lots of blessings to count.
Great blessings! It’s about time now to start saying Happy Holidays 🙂
Happy Holidays!
Thank you, Holly! I’m so thankful for you too 🙂
