I went on a most excellent mountain bike ride with my hubby this week.
He warned me it was a long arduous ride – 3 hours – much of it steep terrain. But, he assured me, the experience was worth the trek.
I had other things to with my time and preferred my own bike route. The one I had been taking for the past month. I know where the sharp curves are lurking, where the densely packed dirt turns to chunky river rocks or loose sand, and I know when to change gears to charge the inclines.
A challenging new path meant sore muscles. It meant slowing down and learning the terrain. I said yes.
